Janet F. Wagner January 17, 1921 - October 5, 2009 Griswold - Janet F. Wagner, was surrounded by her loving children as she left this earth on October 5, 2009. She was born January 17, 1921 in Jewett City, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Wojtcuk of East Main Street. She married Ralph J. Wagner, who predeceased her on March 23, 1990, and had eight children, David Wagner of Scotland, CT, Linda "Penny" Wood, also predeceased, of Jewett City, Ralph J. Wagner, Jr. of Canterbury, Joseph Wagner of Lebanon, CT, Ayan Minta of Joplin Missouri, Rockwell Wagner of Plainfield, Anthony Wagner of Voluntown and Mark Wagner of Norwich. She had 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren. She leaves four sisters, Cecilia Bednarz, Alice D'Andria, Nancy Wildowski and Vina Dudek, and three brothers Albert Wojtcuk, Frank Wojtcuk, Felix Winters and is predeceased by her brother Stanley Wojtcuk. Janet was employed at Plastic Wire and Cable in Jewett City and Montville for most of her working years, was an avid writer to the "letters to the editor" and had written scores of poetry and short stories. She loved to sing and composed many songs, and has a passion for gardening. Calling hours will be at Jewett City-Leffler Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Mass with Christian burial at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 A.M. with internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT immediately following.
