Biography

Alma E. Sinkowitz, wife of Robert Sinkowitz of Azalea Drive, Westerly and Zephrhills, FL., died Sunday morning at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late John S. and Maria A. (Scagliotti) Bronson. She was a graduate of Voluntown Elementary School and Griswold High School. Alma was the Postal Clerk for the U.S. Government for 35 years and retired in 1999. On June 14, 1947 she married Robert S. Sinkowitz at the Voluntown Baptist Church. He survives her. Alma's first thoughts were for her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, boating and gardening. Also surviving are three daughters Valerie Gravelin, Karen and Hollis McKee, Carol Sinkowitz, and a brother Calvin and Joan Bronson, six grandchildren Shawn Gravelin, Tammy Huntelman, Erik Huntelman, Maria McKee Connors, Audrey Karcher, Derek McKee, 12 great grandchildren, one nephew Glenn Bronson. She also raised Dottie (Rakuzza) Cole. Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 10 AM at Leffler Funeral Home, 30 Main Street, Jewett City. Visitation one hour before service. Interment in Pachaug Cemetery.
